Choosing a stand for your panel
Stands look like an afterthought and are not. Panel height determines which part of your body sits in the strongest part of the beam, and a panel propped against a wall at the wrong angle wastes a large share of what you paid for.
Match the stand to the panel weight
The heaviest full body panels are substantial pieces of hardware. A stand rated for a small desktop unit will hold one, right up until someone walks past and knocks it. Check the panel weight before you check the stand price. A stand holding a heavy panel at chest height carries a lot of leverage, so a wide base matters more than it appears to in photographs.
Fixed height or adjustable
| Type | Suits | Trade off |
|---|---|---|
| Base only | One user, one position, panel stays put | No height change at all |
| Simple floor stand | One or two users with similar height | Manual adjustment, takes a minute |
| Electric adjustable | Several users, or treating different body areas | Costs more, needs a power outlet |
Here is the honest version. If one person uses the panel, always standing, always for the same area, a base is enough and the money saved is better spent on the panel itself. Adjustable stands earn their price when two people of different heights share a device, or when you treat knees one day and shoulders the next. Buying an electric stand for a single user treating a single area is spending money on a feature you will set once and never touch again.
Distance is the setting nobody mentions
Irradiance falls sharply as you move away from a panel. Doubling the distance cuts the energy reaching your skin to roughly a quarter of what it was. This is why a stand that holds a stable, repeatable distance is worth more than one that merely holds the panel upright. If you cannot repeat the same distance session after session, you cannot repeat the same dose, and comparing one week to the next stops meaning anything.
Floor space is a real constraint
A full body panel on a stand needs a clear footprint and a clear standing area in front of it, and it will not fold away between sessions. Measure the room before you buy. Plenty of people discover the panel fits and the space to stand in front of it does not.
Where to go next
These stands are made for the panels these stands are built for, which is where to start if you have not yet chosen the panel itself. If floor space is the constraint, whole body coverage devices that lie flat need no stand at all. For something that needs no mounting of any kind, the smaller panels that need no stand sit on a table.
